Local Beaches_

Haad Salad_

Regarded as one of the best beaches on Koh Phangan. It is located on the North West coast of the island. Over the last few years many improvements have been made to the access and services that are associated with this area of beachland. "Haad Salad" beach sits in a secluded bay with blossoming flowers and trees overlooking the ocean. Many people who visit this area agree that it has everything you need for a relaxing peaceful holiday. Along with it's tranquility, "Haad Salad" boasts some great family bars/restaurants, dive-shops and traditional thai massage areas. The resort is only a five minute drive away, so after a day at the beach, you can escape to the comfort of your own family pool villa for alfresco dining.

The main village of Chaloklum sits right in the center of this 2.5 Kilometer beach. It is still used primarily as a fishing village, and as such, the fishing tradesman/women dominate the mid-section of the beach where the village is located. The views out to sea are only enhanced by the delightful traditional and colourful longtail boats. A truly breathtaking scenery, whilst eating one of many restaurants in the local area or just relaxing on the beach.

Haad Yao_

This is truly an exquisite "Long Beach" with amazing sunset views, beautiful vistas and more than enough space to allow for it's ever expanding popularity; many consider it the "perfect" beach. Had Yao has developed over the years in harmony with the beautiful surroundings, retaining its natural splendor and laid back vibe that drew the first travellers here.

Due to its longstanding popularity, the beach has developed to accommodate a great selection of restaurants and a variety of beachfront bars. For great food and a relaxed atmosphere take a look at the two-storey Eagle Public House and Restuarant built into the rocks at the southern end of the beach. This is a cool nightspot with a steakhouse, playing tunes to suit every mood.

Koh Ma_

Koh Ma is a small island just off the North-West coast of Koh Phangan with a sandbar that links the two islands and is the only National Marine Park within Phangan's waters. Here it possible to spot turtles, harmless reef sharks and swim amongst schools of colourful tropical fish.

Haad Khom_

Head East and you arrive at Haad Khom. The beach has a small coral reef that is popular amongst snorkellers. It houses both economical and high end resorts. Theaccess via dirt road can be hard to negotiate without a 4WD jeep, but it is possible to walk around the coastline or - for a not to be missed, island experience - boat taxis regularly run from the pier in Chaloklum.
